The Emburse Spend Slack Integration enables Emburse Spend Members, Managers, and Admins to be notified about Transactions and Card Requests that require their attention right where they work. Managers and Admins can even approve submitted Transactions and Card Requests without ever leaving Slack.
Configure the Emburse Spend Slack Integration
To configure the Slack integration as an Admin:
1. Click the gear in the top right corner to open the Company Settings screen.
2. In the sidebar, click App Integrations.
3. Locate Slack in the list of integrations and click Connect.
4. In the new window that opens, sign into your Slack workspace and Allow Emburse Spend to access your Slack workspace.
Once configured, all Slack notifications will default to on for all Emburse Spend members by default.
Set Your Personal Slack Notification Settings
By default, when the Emburse Spend Slack integration is configured by an Emburse Spend Admin, all Slack notifications will default to on for all Emburse Spend members. However, members can change their notification settings following these easy steps:
1. Click your name in the top right corner and select Personal Settings.
2. In the sidebar, click Notification Settings.
3. Uncheck any of the boxes next to actions you do not want to be notified about in Slack.
You will receive a confirmation message that the setting is automatically saved.
Emburse Spend Member Notifications in Slack
With the Emburse Spend Slack Integration, members can be notified when:
- You have a Transaction available that can be submitted
- You have requested a card
- A new card has been issued to you
- Your card request has been denied
These notifications will come from the Emburse Spend App.
Emburse Spend Manager and Admin Notifications in Slack
With the Emburse Spend Slack Integration, Managers and Admins can be notified and approve directly in Slack when:
- Transactions have been submitted for your approval
- Card Requests have been submitted for your approval
These notifications will come from the Emburse Spend App.
Approve Transactions in Slack
Managers and Admins can be notified about Transactions submitted for your approval and approve or deny them directly in Slack with the Emburse Spend Slack integration.
- To approve Transactions, click Approve. The Transaction will be approved without a need for you to even leave Slack!
- To deny Transactions, click Deny. You will be directed to Emburse Spend to provide a comment.
Approve Card Requests in Slack
Managers with card issuing capabilities and Admins can be notified about Card Requests submitted for your approval and issue the requested cards directly in Slack with the Emburse Spend Slack integration.
- To approve Card Requests, click Issue. The card will be issued to the requestor automatically without a need for you to even leave Slack!
- As a Manager with card issuing capabilities, you will also have the option to Forward to Admin directly from Slack, which will send the request to your Emburse Spend Admin.
- To deny Card Requests, click Deny. You will be directed to Emburse Spend to provide a comment.
- To edit Card Requests, click Edit. You will be directed to Emburse Spend to make changes and issue the card.
