This feature provides a seamless expreience with minimal touchpoints by automatically submitting transactions for virtual cards issued by Emburse and AMEX via Emburse Spend.
When members are issued a virtual card, our automated system evaluates whether the issued card has the necessary fields defined (e.g., Category, Expense, Team Field). If our system can identify input for all of the fields, it will fill in that information on the authorization request.
Emburse Spend then looks for any relevant receipts that have been forwarded or uploaded to the receipt library and matches the receipts to the authorization request. If a receipt is matched, the request is immediately queued for authorization.
Once the authorization is approved, the related transaction appears on the Transactions screen, with all the information filled in and the receipt attached, if appropriate. The transaction is then automatically submitted for approval.
Additional Policy Requirements
If your Spend Policy does not include additional requirements — e.g., warnings or blocks — then the authorization will be automatically queued for approval by your financial institution.
If your policy includes additional requirements, members must forward or upload a receipt that matches the transaction. Once a receipt is found that matches, the authorization will then be automatically queued for approval by your financial institution.
Once the transaction clears the authorization process, it is automatically submitted for approval.
