After you receive your virtual or physical Emburse Card, you will be prompted to activate it either via email or at emburse.com/activate.
- Emburse Cards can only be activated by the cardholder. Admins cannot activate a card on someone's behalf.
- Physical and virtual cards may only be assigned to a single user and cannot be reassigned.
- For security purposes, cardholders will not be able to view the full card number on their Emburse Cards Dashboard. Full card details will only be available once the physical card has been received.
Activate a Physical Card
Once you receive a physical Emburse Cards card, follow the instructions listed on the sticker of the card or navigate to emburse.com/activate. To activate the card with this process, you must be assigned to the card in Emburse.
1. Enter your email address.
2. You will receive a message that an email has been sent to you with further instructions for activating your card.
3. Open the email and select Activate Your Card.
4. Enter the last 4 digits and the expiration date on the physical card.
If you receive an error, first log in to Emburse Spend to verify that the card has not been activated already. In the Personal menu, select Cards to see your active cards. If the card has not been activated, submit a Support request via the Help Center.
5. Next, confirm this is the card you want to activate by selecting Activate Card.
Activate a Virtual Card
You may activate your virtual Emburse card via the activation page or from the activation email you will receive. Once you accept the terms of service, all virtual cards assigned to you will be activated.
From the Activation Page
1. Go to https://app.emburse.com/activate.
2. Enter the required details from your virtual card email.
3. Follow the on-screen steps to accept Stripe’s terms of service.
4. Your card is active once you see the confirmation message.
From the Activation Email
1. Check your email for the Emburse virtual card activation email.
2. Select the activation link in the email.
3. Follow the on-screen steps to accept Stripe’s terms of service.
4. Your card is active once you see the confirmation message.
