This month’s releases introduce new annual subscription options, enhancements for delegate-submitted reimbursable expenses, and stronger security controls for Emburse Cards. All updates are available to every customer immediately.

  • Stronger card security: Only assigned cardholders can view full card numbers.
  • Faster bulk card setup: Bulk orders now support per-card transaction limits.

Features

BILLING

Annual Subscriptions

Customers on a monthly plan can now switch to an annual subscription directly on the Billing page in Emburse Spend. The annual option offers a discounted rate and a predictable yearly cost, giving finance teams clearer budget planning and reducing month-to-month variability.

Administrators can monitor active users in real time to understand how usage aligns with the committed tier, and upgrade paths remain available if the organization needs more capacity. Any overages are billed separately on a monthly schedule.

This update provides a more cost-effective subscription model and supports long-term financial planning, while giving administrators transparent insight into active user counts throughout the subscription period. See Manage your annual Emburse Spend subscription.

EXPENSE

Delegate Submission of Reimbursable Expenses

Delegates with Member or Manager roles can now submit reimbursable expenses on behalf of their delegator. These submissions follow the same workflows and policies applied when employees submit expenses directly, and approver and administrator views clearly show who incurred the expense and who submitted it.

This enhancement allows frequent travelers and executives to rely on support staff to complete the entire reimbursable expense process. Finance teams benefit from fewer delays or incomplete submissions, and accountability improves through clear attribution of both the submitter and the original spender. See Create and Submit Reimbursable Expenses as a Delegate.

Improvements

CARDS

Restrict Full Card Number Visibility to Cardholders

Full card numbers for Emburse Cards are now visible only to the assigned cardholder. Administrators and other users see only masked numbers, creating consistent behavior across virtual cards.

This improvement reduces exposure of sensitive card information, aligns with payment-card security expectations, and ensures that only the person responsible for the card can view its full primary account number.

CARDS

Per-Card Transaction Limit in Bulk Order Template

Administrators can now set a transaction limit for each physical Emburse Card created through a bulk order by using the new Transaction Limit column in the upload template. Cards created from the bulk file inherit the limit specified in the file. If no value is provided in this column, the card will be created with no limit.

This change reduces manual follow-up configuration during large issuance projects, improves governance of spend limits across large groups of new cards, and saves administrators time during card onboarding or reissuance cycles. See Bulk Order Physical Emburse Cards.

Bug Fixes

EXPENSE

Category Filter on Pending Submission

Emburse Spend now returns all relevant draft and queued expenses when administrators filter by category on the Pending Submission tab. The filter previously relied on the default category of the linked account rather than the category assigned to each expense. It now uses the correct value, ensuring accurate results.

This fix ensures administrators can reliably filter expenses by category and review pending items without missing transactions. Filtering behavior on other tabs remains unchanged.
