Export Configurator Overview

Export Configurator Overview

Export Configurator sets the columns in the invoice CSV for Emburse AP. Use this page to choose the source fields, name each column, and set the column order. The same page is available in Emburse Spend and Emburse Professional.

Access and Permissions

Export Configurator is available to a user with the Manage AP Settings permission. If Export Configurator is not visible, confirm that permission with your company administrator.

Navigate to Export Configurator

In Emburse Spend

  1. In the top-right corner, select the Settings gear icon.
  2. Settings navigation with Accounts Payable expanded and Export Configurator selected

  3. Under Accounts Payable, select Export Configurator. It is the last item.

Export Configurator Page

The line under the title says: "Columns will be displayed from left to right on the exported .csv file as you add them on the list below."

The list has two columns:

Column Description
Source field The invoice value written to that CSV column. Each source field is a blue label with a pencil icon.
Export as The column name in the CSV. The box is labeled "Enter column name." It already contains the source field name. You can type a different name.

Arrange the Columns

  1. Drag the handle on the left of a row to move that column. The top-to-bottom order on the page is the left-to-right order in the CSV.
  2. In Export as, type the column name for the CSV.
  3. Select the trash icon to remove that row from the CSV. The last remaining row cannot be removed.
  4. Select ADD A COLUMN.
  5. In Select columns or type a separator, select the source field.
  6. Select Add.
  7. Export Configurator list ending with Submitted By, Add a column, concatenate help, and the page buttons

Concatenate Columns

Concatenation writes more than one source field into a single CSV column. The on-page example is Col A / Col B = "Col A/Col B".

  1. Select ADD A COLUMN.
  2. In Select columns or type a separator, select the source fields to combine.
  3. Type the separator, such as /.
  4. Press Enter.
  5. Select Add.

Save or Reset the Template

Use the buttons at the bottom of the page to review, save, or discard the column list.

Button Description
PREVIEW Displays the Export preview. It shows a sample row of the current column layout, including changes you have not saved. Select Close to leave it.
RESET TO DEFAULT Replace the current list with the default columns. This button stays unavailable when the list already matches the default.
CANCEL Discard edits that are not saved.
SAVE TEMPLATE Save the column list. This button stays unavailable until you change the list. It also stays unavailable when a column name is empty or duplicated. While the save is running, the button says "Saving...".
  1. Change the list. Unsaved changes displays beside SAVE TEMPLATE.
  2. Export Configurator with a shortened column list, Unsaved changes, and Save template available

  3. Select SAVE TEMPLATE to keep the column layout.

Save the template before you leave the page. The saved columns are the layout of the exported .csv file, from left to right in the same order as the list from top to bottom.
