Transition Emburse Cards to Emburse Mastercard Small Business Card

Overview

Emburse is transitioning all Emburse Cards accounts to issue Mastercard Small Business Cards.

This change affects all physical and virtual cards on your account and requires action to avoid service interruption.

Starting on January 14, 2026, new cards will be issued as Mastercard Small Business Cards. Existing cards will continue to work until April 1, 2026, when they will be permanently deactivated.

To continue using cards after this date, you must replace all existing cards before April 1, 2026.

What Is Changing

Beginning on January 14, 2026:

  • New cards: All newly created physical and virtual cards are issued as Emburse Mastercard Small Business Cards.
  • Existing cards: Cards created before this date continue to work until April 1, 2026.
  • Deactivation: Any card not replaced by April 1, 2026, will stop working.

Why This Change Is Happening

Emburse is upgrading card programs to support:

  • Enhanced security protections
  • Improved tools for small business card management
  • Access to Mastercard savings and partner programs

Who Is Affected

All admins and cardholders using physical or virtual Emburse Cards.

How This Affects You

You must replace each existing card that you want to continue using.

Important considerations:

  • Budgets, limits, and restrictions do not carry over and must be reapplied to the new card.
  • Recurring or autopay transactions must be updated with the new card number.
  • Existing cards continue to function normally until April 1, 2026.
