Emburse Spend Release Notes - June 2026
This release introduces more granular Expense Field visibility controls, expands configuration options for customers using the Emburse Assurance add-on, and adds support for American Express® Real-Time Authorizations (RTA) to provide eligible card transactions in real time. The release also includes fixes for issues affecting expense management, mobile attendees, and card transactions.

EXPENSE
Configure Expense Field Visibility for Individual Teams and Users
Administrators can now configure visibility for individual Expense Field sub items instead of applying visibility to an entire Expense Field. This feature is available to Spend Plus, American Express Professional, and Spend Annual customers. You can assign visibility by team or by individual user and manage assignments through an updated Expense Field interface or by using CSV import for bulk updates. This provides more granular control over which users can view specific projects, departments, or other Expense Field values. See Manage Expense Field Item Visibility for details.

POLICY
Configure Emburse Assurance Rules More Efficiently
This improvement is available to customers who use the Emburse Assurance add-on. Administrators can now configure multiple rules within a single Assurance check, use multi-select scopes when defining rule conditions, and manage Assurance rules through a more streamlined configuration experience. The updated workflow also improves support for business hours, alcohol detection, and other existing Assurance checks. See Configure Emburse Assurance Rules in Emburse Spend for details.
INTEGRATIONS
Enroll American Express® Card Programs in Real-Time Authorizations
Organizations that connect an American Express card program can now enroll eligible physical corporate cards in Real-Time Authorizations (RTA). When enabled, authorization notifications appear in Emburse Spend as purchases occur, prompting employees to capture receipts while the transaction is still fresh. The settled transaction continues to import through the standard SFTP process and completes the normal expense workflow.
Organizations that completed their American Express implementation before June 17, 2026, must submit an updated implementation form to American Express to enable RTA. No additional configuration is required in Emburse Spend after RTA is enabled. See Connect an American Express Corporate Card Program for details.
Bug Fixes
EXPENSE
Denied Expenses Can Be Corrected and Resubmitted
Users could not modify or resubmit some denied expenses because a round trip validation error blocked the correction workflow. This issue was fixed so affected users can correct denied expenses and submit them again.
Receipt Deletion Respects Existing Expense Rule Values
Users could receive policy errors when deleting a receipt, even when the required expense fields were already completed. This issue was fixed so receipt deletion does not incorrectly block users when configured rule conditions are already met.
Delegate Split Expenses Stay Assigned to the Selected User
Delegates who split a reimbursable expense on behalf of another user could have the split items assigned to themselves instead of the selected user. This issue was fixed so split expenses remain assigned to the selected user.
Dashboard Expense Fields Display During Submission
Some dependent expense fields did not appear when users submitted expenses from the dashboard. This issue was fixed so required fields display as expected during dashboard expense submission.
MOBILE
Mobile Attendee Lists Use the Correct Organization
Mobile users with connected organizations could see an incorrect attendee list when adding attendees. This issue was fixed so the mobile attendee endpoint returns the correct users for the selected organization.
CARDS
Duplicate Card Transactions Are Flagged Across Card Programs
Duplicate transactions from related card programs could appear as new transactions instead of duplicates, creating inaccurate transaction lists. This issue was fixed so matching duplicate transactions are identified and hidden from standard transaction workflows.
